Summer Transportation
Westchester Summer Day (WSD) offers an unmatched summer experience where children have fun, learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. Our highly trained and caring staff includes teachers, sports and art specialists, lifeguards and a full-time nurse. Our professional staff work together to ensure that each child is happy all summer long. WSD promotes Jewish values and engages children in a host of fun activities within the framework of the modern orthodox tradition.
WSD provides door to door transportation in air conditioned school buses and vans. We contract with experienced private bus companies whose drivers are experienced, adult, school bus drivers who are licensed pursuant to the requirements of the NYS Division of Motor Vehicles. Buses are equipped with two way radios and children are seat belted. WSD works closely with our bus companies to ensure route efficiency.
Bus counselors ride the bus to welcome children on and off the vehicle. They make sure that children are seat belted, maintain safety and make the ride enjoyable. WSD staff escort all children from their bus to their group at arrival and to their bus at dismissal.
Busing is available from New York City, above 60th street, Riverdale and lower Westchester County. WSD is happy to provide bus service from other areas provided there is enough interest.
If you desire busing for your child, please indicate so on our registration form.
For parents who are unsure of their busing needs, busing may be added if you notify the WSD office by April 30.
Many families choose to drive their children to our program. WSD staff will escort your child from your car to their group’s meeting area. At dismissal, parents may remain in their cars on the pickup line. Your child will be brought to your car by WSD staff.

WSD is close to major highways and easily accessible to the areas we serve. Our children come from Westchester, Riverdale, Connecticut and Manhattan.
Who We Are
Westchester Day School is a Modern Orthodox, co-educational, dual-curriculum, toddler to 8th grade Jewish school that inspires and educates our students in their own way to value menschlichkeit, mitzvot, and lifelong learning.
