Girls and boys study the same comprehensive and rigorous dual curriculum throughout their WDS experience and they are encouraged to strive for excellence on every academic level. Our school structure allows us to address each child’s individual strengths and learning styles. We accomplish this by implementing differentiation strategies and small group instruction in our classrooms, our Learning Center and through our Challenge Program.
Our faculty features specialists in all subjects including English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Hebrew Language and Judaic Studies. We also provide a wide range of specialty classes such as Computer Science, Art, and Music, as well as an exciting array of extra-curricular programming. Our use of SMART Boards deepens and broadens our students’ academic experiences. Physical Education is an integral, daily facet of the curriculum, and our children participate in group sports in our gymnasium or on our outdoor playing fields.
Our beautiful facilities provide an ideal setting for educating children, and our unique oceanfront campus serves as the backdrop for experiential learning. Whether conducting a science lesson while wading into the Long Island Sound or teaching the laws of tevilat kelim as our students actually perform the mitzvah, we believe that “learning by doing” is the most effective way of teaching.
